Loss of mental capacity can create a plethora of difficult decisions for family and friends of the person concerned.
For instance, deputies and attorneys may need to consider whether a Will needs to be put in place. As a result, an application may need to be made to the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) to draw up a statutory Will.
Likewise, despite the loss of capacity, consideration may need to be given by the attorney to inheritance tax planning, making gifts or taking other professional advice on behalf of the person concerned.
We are able to advise on all of the above areas to ensure that the appropriate steps are taken.
