The sport sector team at Clarke Willmott LLP has helped secure a multi-million pound, five-year sponsorship deal for the Epsom Derby Festival.

Lawyers at the Top 50 firm, which has offices in London, Birmingham, Southampton, Bristol and Taunton, led negotiations for major client Jockey Club Racecourses (JCR) on the deal with new sponsor Investec, a leading  South African bank and financial services provider with major operations in the UK and globally.

Clarke Willmott Associate James Earl was assisted on the deal by Solicitor Ben Harris.

“All deal documentation was created and finalised by the team within 14 days from instruction and executed the night before the Festival began,” said Mr Earl.

“This crowns a successful 12 months for the sport team in which we have secured very substantial sponsorship deals for JCR, including the Coral Eclipse at Sandown Park, the Tattersalls Million at Newmarket, which looks set to be the most valuable sales race series in the world, and the prestigious Winter Festival at Kempton Park. It also cements our very strong relationship with JCR, which we look forward to continuing.”
