Our Public Authorities and Regeneration Sector looks after the needs of the considerable number of local and public authorities for whom we act. These include government agencies, Urban Regeneration Companies, Local Authorities, PCTs and Police Authorities.
Our growing practice is built on the foundations of promoting effective collaboration between the public and private sectors and a focus on innovative solutions and delivery. We help the public and private sectors understand each other, appreciate that their goals need not be mutually exclusive and work together to deliver schemes which achieve both the required economic development outputs and commercial success.
The team is currently working on strategically important projects worth over £1 billion. These projects involve comprehensive economic development requiring advice on transaction structure and the most efficient contractual frameworks, collaboration agreements, JV development and grant funding agreements, site assembly and disposal, estate management regimes, planning and CPO advice and environmental and construction advice. Our clients also regularly rely on strategic advice from our specialists in OJEU procurement, state aid and tax. Current projects include the Bristol and Bath Science Park at Emersons Green, RAF Locking Parklands at Weston-Super-Mare, Swindon Town Centre, Bristol Harbourside (including @Bristol and the Watershed), Morlands, Glastonbury and the Weymouth Olympics development.
We regularly work with other sector teams, notably the Social Housing and Sports Sectors, in collaborative mixed use or sports facility regeneration schemes.
