We act for individual farmers, large rural landowners and large scale agri-food businesses including primary, secondary and retail food producers across the South of England to the Midlands and beyond.
We look at every aspect of agriculture from business to the assets involved and regularly advise on the following; all forms of agricultural business and their regulations. We acquire, manage and dispose of estates, farms and agricultural businesses. We deal with all forms of agricultural occupancies of land and residential property, government support payments and quotas, business structures and commercial contracts which affect agribusinesses, environmental and regulatory matters including public areas of public law, all aspects relating to the manufacture and sale of food financing, re-financing and the solvency of farming and agribusinesses.
We, also, have extensive practice advising food businesses about the problems faced by their industry. Our Food sector deals with the buying and selling of food businesses, health and safety, licensing, property and employment issues. We find this combined approach is key in an industry with often complex manufacturing processes and large staff rolls with many different employment practices. We also advise on special issues in relation to food composition, labelling and regulation.
Our team is comprised of lawyers who are interested in the industry and experienced in advising companies over many years. We can therefore advise companies not only on the law but bring to this a business led and practical knowledge not present in many of our competitors.
